Redlands NRA Basic Pistol Course July 22nd 2017


The NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course introduces students to the knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for owning and using a pistol safely. More details are below!

Course Description:

Course topics include: gun safety rules, proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, ammunition knowledge and selection, pistol selection and storage, shooting fundamentals, pistol inspection and maintenance, marksmanship, and shooting range safety. Additionally, students will complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range with an NRA Certified Instructor. Students will receive the NRA Guide: Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, take a Basics of Pistol Shooting Student Examination and receive a course completion certificate bearing the signature of the NRA Secretary and your NRA Certified Instructor.

Required Equipment:

You do need a firearm and a minimum of 50 rounds of ammunition for the “Live Fire” portion of the class. If you do not have one, a handgun can be provided for a $25 fee plus the cost of ammo. Eye and ear protection is also required and can be provided at the course if necessary.

The class location is in Redlands California at “ASK Defensive Training Co.”. The exact address is provided on this site and via email to students after they pre-register.
